Cześć Duo
Piano and cello duo
About
Cześć Duo emerged from a deep shared love for both standard and contemporary music. The duo began collaborating while studying at the Frost School of Music, University of Miami, where Piotr was pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance guided by Professor Kevin Kenner and Dr. Naoko Takao while serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, and Ruth was working on her Bachelor of Arts in cello performance with Professor Ross Harbaugh and performing with the Stamps String Quartet fellowship ensemble, guided by Professor Jodi Levitz.
Cześć Duo’s performances are crafted around storytelling, with each concert exploring specific themes that resonate personally with the musicians, inviting listeners to engage with the deeper narratives behind the music. Their dedication to discovering lesser-known or rarely performed works enriches their artistic vision, as they aim to present music that reflects the beauty of diversity in society and the arts.
Music
The duo’s style revolves around the exploration of personal and cultural identity through music, aiming to create meaningful connections with audiences. While their core repertoire draws from 19th and 20th-century Western classical music, they are equally dedicated to presenting contemporary works and advocating for new compositions. A recent program includes works by Johannes Brahms and Samuel Barber.
