The Bridge Music Collective
Collective, Prokofiev Ensemble
About
Founded in 2023, The Bridge Music Collective is a group of musicians traversing repertoire with unique instrumentation and relationship to the performance space. They started their journey as a collective with the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where they studied Sergei Prokofiev’s Quintet Op. 39 together. The instrumentation of this group sparked their curiosity for the potential of new musical combinations and spurred them into further exploration. The Collective prioritizes experimentation, curiosity, musicality, and relationships between each other and our collaborators.

Music
Our collective loves experimenting with different time periods and genres. We of course have played the Prokofiev Quintet, but have also arranged some pieces for the ensemble. We have played selections from J.S. Bach to Josef Suk and from contemporary composers such as David DeBoor Canfield and Valerie Coleman. We have also played pieces in smaller combinations of this ensemble by composers like Randall Thompson and Rebecca Clarke.
