About

I have studied and performed cello classically for most of my music making life and have recently been incorporating other interests into my practice, including songwriting, performance art, theater and improvised music. I am a part of the artist collective, Mocrep, tour with the cinematic shadow puppetry company, Manual Cinema, and will be releasing my first album of original music, The Silver Hour EP, on October 7th. I tend to get sucked into existential conversations pretty easily, enjoy cooking without a recipe and have gotten damn good at maneuvering a crowded CTA train with my cello.

Music

I'm pretty deep into contemporary music right now, a lot of which crosses over into other disciplines like theater, dance, digital art and performance art. I'm also really into song, of all types; folk, art song, popular genres, opera, experimental. It's sometimes difficult to distinguish what music you value most and which music you interact with most. My recent google search results don’t always overlap with the most meaningful musical experiences in my life, some of which have been performances by bands, string quartets, orchestras or folk musicians, who slip out of my life as soon as they appear. That impermanence is special to me. Like the way we experience sound, it is often the imprinted memory that grows in value.
