About

Formed in 2022 at NYU, the Kompass Quartet can be found playing at exclusive events around NYC. Following their residency at the Craftsbury Chamber Players in 2023, they have premiered numerous new compositions and frequently collaborate with composers and other instrumentalists to expand their repertoire in less common instrumentations. While they were trained in the typical Western classical string quartet canon, they pride themselves in programming music written by underrepresented composers, both new and old.

Music

We play a broad range of classical and pop music, with a special interest in music by underrepresented composers. We often have themed programs, such as:

Girl Power - a night of all female composed music
A Night on Broadway - Broadway show tunes
Mostly Mozart - Mozart program
Roots - all music by non-white composers

And more! We are happy to tailor the program theme based in the event.
