About
I'm a guitarist and composer from Chicago playing a unique style of solo guitar. My path in music has been circuitous. I grew up studying jazz and classical guitar, playing in funk bands, and making hip-hop beats. I took a detour in college to study Spanish and Portuguese literature and worked on an archaeological dig after graduation.
Nevertheless, music kept on calling my name. I spent about 10 years playing raucous improvised music at small venues in Chicago before settling into my own voice as a guitarist and composer.
I released my first album, Comfort, in late 2023. My approach to music is deeply personal. I look at each composition as a journal entry, using sound to document the thoughts, feelings, and experiences of the day. I hope that by performing this music, I can inspire others to express themselves and tell their own stories.

"We really enjoyed listening to the musician in a beautiful setting! The guitarist took time to explain the inspiration or history behind the songs, which we appreciated. He was both charming and a skilled musician. I would highly recommend him for other events."

"The music was beautiful, heartfelt and transportive for a lovely summer evening."

Music
I mostly play original compositions for acoustic guitar. The music I write is eclectic, drawing on my training in classical, jazz, and blues, as well as my near-obsessive study of Brazilian Choro and Bossa Nova music. Aside from my originals, I occasionally play jazz standards, solo guitar arrangements of popular songs, and the music of composers such as Heitor Villa-Lobos and Garoto.
