Nicoletta Todesco

Classical Guitar

About

Hello, I am Nicoletta and I am an Italian classical guitarist based in New York. I started playing at the age of 9 and over time it became a lifelong commitment. I began my studies at the Conservatory at the age of 14, and from there on, I never stopped studying, learning and trying to evolve as an artist. I performed in many venues and festivals between Italy, Spain, Mexico and the United States. Besides performing, I teach guitar, compose and arrange for my instrument, and chamber ensembles with guitar. I studied at the Trento Conservatory and at the Bologna Conservatory and I hold a Master of Arts Degree from the Yale School of Music.

Music

My repertoire goes from early music written for the lute and arranged for the modern instrument to contemporary and new music written for guitar. I also write and perform my own music, which I consider new music repertoire for the classical guitar and I often add to my programs art songs and songs from the traditional voice and guitar repertoire that I sing and play. Also, I really love chamber music so I am always looking for collaborations with friends and colleagues. I currently play in a duo with Mexican flutist Laura Gracia and in the Clio Artist Project Trio with singer Emily Donato and flutist Helen Park.
