AEON Ensemble
three voices, cello, percussion
About
AEON Ensemble is a contemporary classical music collective that creates immersive, often multi-media concert experiences. In fact, our genesis in 2015 was a targeted action and collaboration confronting both UN representatives and the general public with harrowing climate data via theatrical and musical avenues. The project was in collaboration with Kronos Quartet and the Earth Institute at Columbia and took place during the 2015 United Nations Sustainable Development Summit. Since then, we’ve commissioned and premiered over 35 new works and highlighted underrepresented composers within the classical repertoire at venues as varied as Carnegie Hall, Flux Factory, The DiMenna Center, The Cell, The Baumann, Princeton University, and St. John’s in the Village.
Our goal is to make excellent quality new music that is engaging and accessible to everyone in location, price, and content.
Music
We specialize in mixing up the classically old with the daringly new so we do it all from Machaut to Monk, Bach to Berio.
