Cassie loves performing and telling stories with the music she has the privilege of playing for you. She performs regularly with the flute/marimba duo SoundPoint and has freelanced for orchestras in the Seattle area including the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra and the Sound Edge Orchestra. Cassie focuses in contemporary performance and has recorded over 50 world premieres. In 2017, Cassie won the Seattle Flute Society Young Artist Competition and the Maverick Flute Competition. She has also performed at the International Computer Music Conference, LaTex Electronic Music Festival, SoundSCAPE New Music Exchange, the New York City Electronic Music Festival, the Oregon Bach Festival, and at SEAMUS. She received her MM in Performance from the University of North Texas and her BM in Performance from the University of Oregon.

Music

I play a huge variety of repertoire from solo flute music to chamber music to flute and piano. Recently at groupmuses I have played a concert of French flute and piano music including some by Faure, Griffes, and Poulenc, and a solo flute program involving baroque music by Telemann and CPE Bach, impressionist music by Eugene Bozza and romantic music by Sigfried Karg-Elert, as well as more modern fare by Elliott Carter and by Takemitsu. I'm game for anything, though, and have a repertoire list a mile long. What kind of flute music do you want to hear?
