Historical context
In the 1300's the Mughals invaded modern day Northern India and with that brought rich Persian culture to the subcontinent. The confluence of Persian and Indian classical music led to the advent of North Indian music, or Hindustani music. This duo plays neither but explores the commonalities and differences of these two music forms, bringing together a haunting reference to the past, rooted in the present.
