Dúo Copla (José Maldonado & Ernesto Ramos) is a captivating classical guitar duo from Puerto Rico. With a passion for showcasing the rich musical heritage of their homeland, the duo is dedicated to performing, arranging, and recording music by Puerto Rican composers. Dúo Copla has released two singles that demonstrate their versatility and deep connection to Puerto Rican music. Their debut recording featured two contemporary Danzas by the Puerto Rican guitarist and composer, Leonardo Egúrbida. Their second recording showcased the vibrant diversity of Caribbean music with the three-movement Sonatina Tropical by Ernesto Cordero. Each movement features a distinct genre from the Caribbean, seamlessly blending classical elements with the infectious rhythms of bolero, güajira, and salsa.
