    A trail of breadcrumbs in the moonlight. A house made of Gingerbread. A Wicked Witch who gets her just desserts. Hansel and Gretel is iconic - and it’s been a source of inspiration for hundreds of years. And now The San Francisco Opera, in collaboration with the London Royal Opera has a brilliant colorful new incarnation of the tale, as told by the great and humorously-named 19th Century German opera composer Englebert Humperdinck. And, as this abundant season would have it, we’re invited for a Groupmuse Night Out!

    It’s short as operas go, filled with catchy tunes, and as lushly orchestrated as Wagner in parts - great for both the opera lover and the opera-curious. And, of course, it’s got a story that's beloved to so many of us.
