We’ve got another mighty Massivemuse in the works!
We’ll feature the brilliant talents from around the country - the multi-faceted Adelphi Quartet. They’ve played Carnegie. They’ve played Coachella. And now they Massivemuse.
And what a punch-packing program they’ve got in the works: Ravel’s String Quartet - an enigmatic, dynamic, melodious, and overwhelming masterwork of early 20th century classical music. Arguably Ravel’s crowning jewel in the world of chamber music.
Then we’ve got Beethoven’s Serioso - it falls right at the transition between heroic, romantic Middle Beethoven, and moody, inward, proto-modernist Late Beethoven. The piece is barely 20 minutes, but it takes you through the ringer and back. The program ends with a new work by the brilliant young Jessie Montgomery, a woman of color who’s changing the face of what a classical composer looks like.
We’ll gather in the righteous new space, the MilkBoy ArtHouse, right by UMD. Milkboy is "a performance venue, restaurant and craft bar where the community can gather, connect and explore” — and now we can add "’muse” to that venerable list of verbs.
What's the music?
