At this juncture, at the threshold of March and with the faintest rustles of spring on the wind, it’s become clear to us here at Groupmuse that we haven’t yet had a a single SF Massivemuse in this here 2019! However, thanks to the electrifying Friction Quartet, brilliant guitarist Zane Forshee, and the gorgeous new venue, 1337 Mission, we’re fixing to fix that.
The first half of the program is the classics: Some dazzling Isaac Albeniz for solo guitar, Joseph Haydn’s op. 76/1 string quartet — one of the greatest — and a rendition of 'Round Midnight by a Monk of the Thelonius variety.
The second half sees an array of newer works, from Weezer to John Halle; and for the program’s final work, "my heart comes undone” by the living and breathing Judah Adashi, the quartet and the guitar join forces to sing the evening to a close as a quintet.
Tickets are $20, drinks will be available but BYOB is cool too, and get this: we’re encouraging everyone to bring blanket, floor pillows, yoga mats, whatever your rear-end desires, because we aim to get COZY ON THE FLOOR.
See you there!
