The Warp Trio are not just coast-to-coast Groupmuse Heroes -- they are the very picture of a 21st century "classical" ensemble: A multi-racial, multi-genre, multi-national piano trio that's as at home with Mozart as with Sir Duke. They'll play the classics in a way that befits the finest concert halls, and then they'll play one of their signature originals -- blending classical, baroque, hip hop, jazz, Indian Raga, and the kitchen sink and show you what the future of this music looks like.
What's more: They're coming through Oakland and they're fixing for a Massivemuse. The glorious and reborn Brooklyn Preserve -- one of the largest landmarks in Oakland and recently the beneficiary of a heroic restoration effort that's turned it into a singular community space and performance venue and we couldn't be more exited to introduce it to our community.
The Warp'll be on some Eastern European Masters: Bartok, Janacek, and Martinu, and then their new original: Suite for Piano Trio.
It's BYOB, tickets are $20 and we can't wait to see you there.
What's the music?
