New York City is famous for its cultural institutions: The Metropolitan Opera. Carnegie Hall. The Whitney. And the noblest and most profound of them all: Sunday Brunch in Brooklyn.
And, thanks to the dogged efforts of an activist-groupmuser with a beautiful vision, we’re finally bringing to bear the full power of the Massivemuse to celebrate that venerable cultural institution with our FIRST EVER BRUNCHTIME MASSIVEMUSE.
On July 8th, we’ll be gathering in the indescribably beautiful Montauk Club, a architectural treasure of the highest order, and a 125 year old social club right in the middle of Grand Army Plaza, for a lazy late morning of divine music, fresh bread and muffins, bagels, eggs, potatoes, sausages, the millennial miraculous avocados and: Bottomless. Mimosas.
On the sound menu will be Groupmuse heroes Mikael Darmanie on the keys and Caleb van der Swaagh on the cello, with French masterworks by Debussy, Satie and Fauré. And some other splendor from the Continent will be peppered in as well.
Doors’ll be at 11; brunch’ll be during a long, luxurious intermission, and we’ll be out of there by 2pm. What’s more, the place is right by the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, so after the Massivemuse, you’ll have a beautiful place to float off into and enjoy the rest of this fine slice of Summer in the City.
The all-included tickets are $45 and while that’s more than your average Massivemuse, it’s less than your average avocado toast, and this one comes with centuries of glorious masterworks! Can't wait to see you there!
