Join us for another Hidden Mission Churchmuse as we explore the lush variety of early 20th century French music for voice and piano. The question is “What is it like to be in love?” and the answers are varied.
As a performer, I love the intimacy of the space and the fantastic acoustics. Having spent a lot of time in the cushioned and cozy pews and chairs, I can tell you that it is also a marvelous place to experience music.
After the concert, join us for conversation with the musicians and fellow music lovers. There will be nonalcoholic beverages provided but feel free to bring a bottle of wine or another beverage of your choice to share. There will be a bottle opener and glasses! That said, know that our space welcomes children and young adults. Parents need to supervise but there is space to sit on the floor and play quietly and still be able to enjoy the music. Big and little folk need to and are welcome to move around.
Know that our space is wheelchair accessible with an accessible bathroom. Additionally, we are a brief walk from 24th street BART. Parking around the 19th century church was designed for horse and buggy, but you can still find spaces on Guerrero, Dolores, or side streets.
This will be fun. We are very much looking forward to performing for you.
Nicole and Jane
What's the music?
We will perform French songs and solo piano pieces including works by Debussy, Satie and Poulenc. Luxurious and fun, sad and happy. You will go home whistling new favorites.
