I am thrilled to present my second virtual Groupmuse, this time in the new year and with a new combination of repertoire and collaboration with visual artists. The evening's selections pull from improvisatory figures, contemplative motives, and dynamic characters. Works by French Composers dominate half of the program; I study and perform these works for their romantic connection with the flute (and involved history) as well as to explore my own French heritage.
This performance's virtual format will lend itself to exploratory and evocative elements. I will take you on a journey to the New England landscapes that inspired me in the past year, letting their images deepen the fluency of my music. Additionally, collaborations with visual artists (including Klara Vertes and Rachel Azzinaro) will uncover the inter-disciplinary, boundless realm that all art inhabits. I hope that these visions will spark renewed creativity and energy for what is to be newly discovered in 2021.
Thank you for taking the time to spend an evening with me! I'm looking forward to sharing this time with you.
