Music

As a classical pianist, my repertoire spans a wide range of periods, but I find myself especially captivated by two contrasting genres: Baroque and contemporary music. In the Baroque repertoire, I am particularly drawn to the works of Rameau and Handel. I cherish the idea that, in an era with limited entertainment, their music served as a source of profound beauty and connection. While respecting the stylistic conventions of the period, I take delight in infusing my interpretations with personal freedom and a sense of timeless expression.

In contrast, contemporary music offers me an entirely different avenue for artistic exploration. I am deeply committed to performing works by Japanese composers, from celebrated masters like Toru Takemitsu to emerging talents. As a Japanese pianist performing in the United States, I see it as part of my artistic mission to bridge cultures and showcase the unique perspectives of Japanese music to international audiences.
