Hello, my name is Petra, I am originally from Slovenia (Ex Yugoslavia) but now live in Santa Clara. I was invited to study Piano in US ten years ago and remained in California after finishing my Doctorate in Piano performance at UCSB. And yes, I know I still have a strong slavic accent. Although classically trained my entire life I enjoy playing just about any type of music, I have previously played in chamber groups, orchestras, ballet, musical productions and in a Rock band. Among others, one of my jobs was performing music on request as an entertainer pianist. Do you have any pieces that you wish someone would play at your house and which pieces/songs are they?

Music

Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Beethoven, Mozart, etc. I have some Slovene classical composers after my doctoral research on the Istrian Scale and trying to prepare a recital of women composers from the late romantic era for early 2024. I really enjoy the music of piano minimalists, such as Einaudi or Glass. And I do not mind piano arrangements of orchestral pieces.
