About
I am a profession pianist and have been Chair of the Piano Dept at both University of WI-Madison and Lawrence Conservatory in Appleton, WI. I have written a book on Debussy (Debussy's Paris) and have a series of 24 lecture recitals on Great Courses (Great Piano Works Explained.) I have played and given masterclasses in many different countries, and I'm especially interesting in performing and connecting music to social history. I'm currently giving classes for the Juilliard Extension Division and the 92nd Str Y in NYC, in addition to teaching at Lawrence in Appleton, WI. I'm particularly interested in looking at Paris and vienna in the fin de siècle period.
Music
Right now, i'm preparing a program of music from Vienna, with pieces by Mozart, Schubert, Berg, and eisler.
