About

I am a performer and composer whose creative interests are interdisciplinary. My main instrument is piano, but I have also studied harpsichord, viola, and voice.

I graduated in May 2023 from Haverford College with a BA in music and in mathematics. My liberal arts background and wide-ranging interests help me to interpret music in the larger context of history and culture.

I have a strong interest in cultivating intentional community through music and would love to engage in conversation with audiences about music and its social context.

Music

I have particular interest in both early European music and contemporary classical music. Recently some composers I’ve taken interest in are the French Baroque composer Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre and the living American composer Gabriela Lena Frank.

In addition, as a child of Chinese immigrants, I love performing music that imitates or draws inspiration from traditional Chinese music.

I enjoy playing from other periods of classical music too; some of Beethoven’s late works are among my favorite pieces to perform. I also perform my own piano works, the styles of which range from more traditional to more experimental.
