About
I am a New York City based flutist, bandleader, producer, and composer, and play traditional Cuban music, Latin Jazz and World Fusion. I am a first generation American, New Yorker of Egyptian-Syrian heritage.
The power of music to bring people together is undeniable.
My love of performing wherever I travel has always connected me to the heart of the culture, contributing to my cross cultural musical influences.
Since the late 1970’s, I've been performing locally & internationally with my own band, as well as with many other internationally renowned artists. Over the years, I have independently produced four albums as a bandleader: First Cause, Querencia, Incarnate, and Heaven and Earth.
I love connecting through music and being part of a creative process which lights up and uplifts something in the listeners. My music is an expression of my personal journey and a call for collective joy. My intention is to inspire, to move people to feel, to reflect, to come together and celebrate
