About

The Huelga-Tabarés DUO is a chamber ensemble of composer/performers formed by Jorge Huelga (viola) and Jorge Tabarés (piano). We perform the major works of the viola & piano repertoire but at the same time we perform our own compositions for viola & piano.
Jorge Huelga is a violist/composer who has completed his doctoral degree in viola performance at Stony Brook University, where he studied with Lawrence Dutton, Matthew Lipman and Nicholas Cords. He also completed his Master of Music degree at Mannes College - The New School in viola performance.
Jorge Tabarés is a pianist/composer who completed two BM degrees in composition and piano, two MM degrees in composition and piano, and a PSD in composition at Mannes School of Music - The New School, where he studied with Lowell Liebermann and Irina Morozova.
