About
Hi :) My name is Ron, I'm a multi-instrumentalist, tap dancer and band leader from Los Angeles. I started playing the guitar at the age of 12.
As a young adult I traveled quiet a lot. I studied music in Tel Aviv and theater in Berlin. I experimented with electronic music, composed professionally for modern dance, busked on the streets of New Orleans and NYC and my first role in commercial theater was to tap dance as I'm coming out of an elevator (only to get thrown out of a window).
I got to collaborate on stage with the legendary Bobby Mcferrin and performed for the former Israeli president Shimon Peres. I toured the globe both as a street performer and as a cast member of the renowned Israeli dance group 'Mayumana', led my own swing band “Ron & the red Beans” for 8 years, taught at major festivals around the world and my compositions for modern dance were performed at the Hannover Opera House, Germany.
I love biking and cooking and I have a beautiful daughter named Mayah.
Music
I love the sound of early jazz from 1920 -1940. I'm profoundly inspired by jazz legends such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Django Reinhardt and Billie Holiday. My repertoire includes songs such as "I can't give you any thing but love", "Easy Living", Ain't Misbehavin", "Blue Drag", "Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans" and "Coquette".
