About
Heather O'Gara has performed as a soloist, orchestral musician, and chamber musician on professional stages both in the United States and in Europe. She has appeared in concert live on Belgian public television, directed and performed the Mozart Clarinet Concerto with chamber orchestra, and premiered works by contemporary composers. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in music education from Hofstra University, Heather lived in Brussels, Belgium, where she obtained bachelor's, master’s, and post-graduate diplomas in clarinet performance from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, all with distinction. Her primary teachers are Benjamin Dieltjens (Principal Clarinet, Antwerp Symphony Orchestra), David Van Maele (Eb Clarinet, Royal Band of the Belgian Guides), and Laurie Friedman-Adler (HEVREH Ensemble).
