I hold a Masters Degree in Classical Guitar Performance from Portland State University, having studied under David Rogers, Bryan Johanson, and Jesse McCann. I have performed in master classes for some of the world’s finest classical guitarists, including the Grammy Award-winning guitarist David Russell, the Grammy Award-winning composer Andrew York, and the celebrated guitarist and composer Ralph Towner. I currently performs as a solo artist under my stage name Élan as well as in various ensembles including the Rogers-Kelley Guitar Duo and the Oregon Guitar Trio.
Music
My repertoire varies, I have a lot of different musical interests and have performed a large variety of music on classical guitar over the years . Recently I have been focusing on the Spanish Guitar repertoire, including such works as Asturias (Leyenda) by Isaac Albéniz and Recuerdos De La Alhambra by Francisco Tárrega. I am also very fond of Latin American repertoire and play a lot of pieces such as Sons de Carrilhões by João Pernambuco and Virgilio bu Antonio Lauro. I perform contemporary and original compositions as well, and I never like to play a show without at least a few pieces by the master, Johann Sebastian Bach.
