About

I’m a violist based in Evanston, Illinois. I recently finished my undergraduate degree at Northwestern, and I’ll be starting my graduate work at the New England Conservatory in Boston this fall. My major teachers include Helen Callus, Jeffrey Irvine, and Li-Kuo Chang of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and I’ll begin studying with Mai Motobuchi of the Borromeo String Quartet in September.

My mission in life is to transform how the general public understands classical music. Too often, classical music is presented as an absolute, standalone entity, when it is in fact part of a rich, colorful tapestry of history and culture, just like every other music genre. Thus, I strive to deliver performances that thoughtfully examine the music as part of a broader human context and bring it to life in new ways.

Music

Classical, of all eras: high baroque, long 18th century, 19th century, modernist, and beyond.
