Cellist
About
I completed my Master's at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and did my undergrad at Oberlin Conservatory. I'm a member of the Bay Area-based Amaranth Quartet and love chamber music and collaborations of all varieties. Contemporary music is a big passion of mine, as I'm continually seeking out ways to expand the sonic possibilities of the cello. I also love arranging pop songs in my spare time (Backstreet Boys, anyone?)
Music
Solo: any of the Bach Cello Suites, Kodaly solo sonata, Cassado solo suite, Crumb sonata, Dutilleux "Trois Strophes"+ many contemporary works
Cello & Piano: works by Prokofiev, Debussy, Brahms, Schnittke, Poulenc, Beethoven, Janacek, Arvo Part, Messiaen, Schumann, Ravel, etc
Chamber: too much to name! anything by Beethoven, Bach, Brahms, Mozart, Haydn, Janacek, Debussy, Schnittke, Schoenberg, Ravel, etc
I'm really into contemporary music--I've commissioned close to one hundred works for solo cello and various chamber ensembles and would love to share some of these works with others!
Also a baroque cello noob--have played some Vivaldi, Bach, Couperin, de Fesch, Gabrielli.
