About
Taemin Kim is a senior at Avon High School. He began his musical career playing piano, and started to learn the violin at the age of 11. Currently, he studies violin under the tutelage of Annie Trepanier. He has earned several accolades which include assistant concertmaster in Northeast Massachusetts Youth Orchestra and member of the CMEA Northern Region and All- State orchestras in 2018, 2019, and 2020. He also served as the concertmaster of Avon High School’s Chamber Orchestra. He was the principal second violin in the 2019 CMEA All- State Festival and 2020 Northern Regional Festival. He also won first place in the 2019 Elite International Music Competition and second place in the 2019 American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition, which awarded him invitations to perform at Carnegie Hall.
Music
I play any classical repertoire. I have played pieces from the likes of Beethoven, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Wieniawski, Saint-Saens, Sibelius, and many others.
