Monika Kertész Hungarian-Bulgarian mezzo-soprano is recognized for her velvety voice and strong stage presence. In her artistic existence, she combines traditional aesthetics and values with her versatility and innovation. In parallel with opera, operetta, oratorio productions, and recitals, she also reaches out for new innovative projects.
She regularly performs with the most prestigious Hungarian orchestras. Most recent appearances also include singing the title role of Rossini’s La Cenerentola at the National Theatre Pécs, the mezzo-soprano solo in Schumann’s piece Das Paradies und die Peri” with the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Based on her colorful interest she founds her performing arts collective called In-Pact with the aim of expanding the possibilities between classical music, opera and contemporary performing arts and premiers her interdisciplinary performance Desdemonium which received great recognition at the International Shakespeare Festival, Gyula in 2020.
