About
Eric Zheng hails from Tucson, Arizona and currently serves as the Applied Saxophone Instructor at Albion College.
He made his solo debut with the Tucson Youth Philharmonic Orchestra at age 16 and has received numerous awards since. He was named a 2019 Yamaha Young Performing Artist Competition Winner and has won top prizes from Vandoren, Scholarship clubs, and Northwestern Concerto competitions. He is dedicated to creating a lasting and positive community centered around accessible and innovative musical experiences in advocacy of Asian-American representation.
Music
I play contemporary, classical, jazz, and sometimes pop! I love all types of different music and showcasing Asian artistry. Chamber music is tremendously important to my playing, and Group 2 traverses many different styles and eras of music.
