Koblyakov-Bass Duo
Violin and piano duo
About
The duo Koblyakov-Bass is comprised of the American-Israeli violinist Rachel Koblyakov and French-English pianist, Orlando Bass.
Their first collaborations took place as part of various chamber ensembles in the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique in Paris, which soon solidified into a duo.
A defining factor of their recital programs involves placing rarely heard works alongside pillars of the duo repertoire. Semi-finalists in the Katrineholm duo competition, they have participated in masterclasses by Tim Vogler, Rohan de Silva, Ronald Copes, Igor Volochine, and currently study with Emmanuel Strosser. Their discography includes the premiere of Patrick Loiseleur's Les BĂ©atitudes cycle under the label Triton, and an upcoming disc of the Sonata and Ballade of Michel Ciry for Naxos.
