About

I am a flutist trained in classical and contemporary repertoire. Though I love playing chamber and other large group music, solo flute works are also perennial to my practice. Playing alone lets me dive deeply into the project of creating a rich space with a single voice. When creating solo music the challenge for the composer and performer is to build contrast, density, and narrative to a single musical voice. In this time of worldwide quarantine I have felt lucky to dive into these solo pieces and find a greater understanding of solitude in them, and I am very happy to get to share them with you.
