renaissance & baroque lutes, theorbo, early guitars
About
I'm from Norway, and I've been living in Somerville for many years. I play and teach all kinds of lutes and early guitars. I've performed with many groups including Boston Camerata, Handel & Haydn Society, Emmanuel Music & others, and I also perform solo. I love all kinds of music, including jazz and rock.
Music
I play a lot of basso continuo (playing from the bass line, and improvising or constructing a part above that) with chamber groups. There are composers in every European country for this: Telemann, Handel, C.P.E. Bach, Marais, Couperin, Vivaldi, Vitali, to name a few. I also play solos on all of my instruments: Mudarra (vihuela), Bach (lute), Corbetta (baroque guitar). And I play 19th- and early 20th-century American guitar music on original guitars.
