About

The Metropolitan Horn Authority is a contemporary horn quartet that takes aspects of classical and popular music and turns them into a unique concert experience. Through original arrangements they expose audiences to the wide range of the french horn and show off its versatility in various styles. Keeping the live performance in mind, the MHA develops programs that keep listeners engaged in a performance made for them.

Music

Some works in their standard repertoire is their arrangements of the 3rd mvmt of Mozart's 4th Horn Concerto, "Classical Mash-up" (featuring music of Beethoven, Mozart, Strauss, Puccini, & Rossini), and a Move Medley featuring the music of John Williams. They also play works by Bach (Chorales, Preludes, and Fugues), Brahms, Hindemith (Sonata for Four Horns), and an energetic arrangement of the Overture to Mozart's "Magic Flute." Original arrangements of popular tunes are also some of their favorites, let them know if you have any requests!
