About
I’m a trombonist and composer, and my current project is something called 'Tiny Duets':
http://www.tinyduets.com
Conceived as an alternative means of connecting with another human being in an increasingly dehumanizing digital world, 'Tiny Duets' began with a tiny idea: “I’ll reach out to a musician I’ve never met and introduce myself. We’ll get together and improvise. I record the session, transcribe it, and we’ll both share writing credit for the resulting ‘tiny duet’.” It’s a chance to get out of the house and meet new people while at the same time creating new repertoire for both of our instruments. Everybody wins.
Connection. Communication. Creativity. Small scale collaborations between two human beings.
So far we've co-written pieces for Viola/Trombone, Cello/Trombone, Clarinet/Trombone, Bassoon/Trombone, Two Trombones, Solo Dancer/Trombone and are expanding and building on that repertoire every week with new musicians, new instrument combinations, and new artists.
Music
I perform with groups of 2 to 4 musicians of varying instrumentation. In addition to our growing repertoire of newly composed classical music, we also play more standard repertoire from established composers. This includes works by Orlando di Lassus, J.S. Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Vincent Persichetti, and Leonard Bernstein among others.
