About
Iranian and Pakistani-American flutist, Amir Hoshang Farsi, is an active chamber musician, orchestral musician, and educator.
Amir has been featured on several chamber music concerts at the Yale School of Music and has performed in the Norfolk, Marrowstone, and St. Lawrence String Quartet music festivals. He regularly performs with the UN Chamber Music Society and has shared the stage with musicians such as Stephen Taylor and William Purvis. In October 2019, Amir made his Carnegie Hall debut as a featured soloist with the UN Chamber Music Society in a concert for climate action and will also be performing in July 2020 on the Music@Menlo concert series.
Amir attended the Peabody Conservatory and Yale School of Music where he studied with Marina Piccinini and Ransom Wilson.
Music
I play a wide variety of music in the classical music genre and crossover genre. Recently, I have performed standard wind quintet pieces, Mozart Flute Quartets, and evening music from the sound track of Spirited Away.
