About
Iranian flutist, Mehrdad Gholami has served as principal flute with Tehran Symphony. He is a prize winner of several solo and chamber music competitions in Iran as well as Iran's National Councours of Arts at the age eighteen. Mehrdad recently completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Flute Performance at Texas Christian University. From an early age, Mehrdad has played with numerous contemporary ensembles and has worked with Iranian and American composers to premiere and record new sounds for flute with different ensembles. These collaborations can be heard in numerous recordings as well as the first compilation of Iranian pieces for flute and various ensembles, published by the University of Tehran and Iran Flute Society. With a love for education, Mehrdad holds a private studio in Fort Worth as well as coordinating the chamber music program at the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra. Recent performances include Judith Shatin’s Flute Concerto (Ruah) with the Aspen Contemporary Ensemble.
Music
I enjoy performing Classical music from Renaissance era to recent compositions. However, I have experience performing for churches, weddings and diverse events and can curate a program based on the event or the occasion I am performing for!
