Xanthoria is a newly formed quartet of old friends and veteran NYC string players.

Music
We play standard classical repertoire (Beethoven, Haydn, Mozart), but tend to focus more toward 20th century composers (Janacek, Glass, Gershwin, Bartok, Ives, Shostakovich, Bartok). Our purpose is simple: to play music that brings pleasure and provokes ideas in the audience, as well as function as a utilitarian ensemble to record and perform living composers work.
