About
Professionally speaking, I'm a Polish-American mezzosoprano, choral conductor, and Slavic language enthusiast. I'm otherwise a dilettante harpist, retired pianist rediscovering impressionism, and diner coffee devotee. My musical endeavors oscillate between preserving the (very) old and pioneering the daringly new. Recent performance highlights include performing with Anglica Antiqua, singing the soli in Britten’s Ceremony of Carols and Bruckner’s Te Deum with the Astoria Choir, both directing and performing in David Lang’s Mile-Long Opera, and launching AEON Ensemble, an audio-visual contemporary concert music collective to great acclaim. Tangentially, my extensive involvement in the Eastern European cultural communities of the tri-state area oscillates between directing three choral ensembles, reviving under-performed Slavic lieder, and premiering new works as both singer and conductor at venues such as Symphony Space, Carnegie Hall, Kosciuszko Foundation, Golden Festival, and others
Music
I study and perform it all, but I've been professionally focusing on and recognized for contemporary classical repertoire (think: Berio, Scelsi, Ives, Gubaidulina, Oliveros, Saariaho) as well as early music (Machaut, Dowland, Bartlet, Coprario, and tons of Anonymous)
