About

Giancarlo Llerena is pursuing his Bachelor of Music Degree at The Juilliard School as a piano performance major. An avid performer, he has played at many prestigious venues, such as Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the Kravis Center, the New World Center, the Breakers, and several Steinway Halls. Recently, Giancarlo was a winner of the National YoungArts Competition, the Pathfinder Scholarship Award, and the Arts For Life Scholarship Award, presented by former Florida governor, Jeb Bush. He has attended the Tanglewood Institute and the Aspen Music Festival on fellowship, and has been awarded 1st prize in several competitions. At Juilliard, Giancarlo is a Gluck Fellow and a recipient of the Howard & Ethel B. Ross Piano Scholarship and the John and Henry Steinway Scholarship. There, he has had the privilege of being mentored by many sought-after musicians, such as Rohan de Silva, David Finckel, and Itzhak Perlman. Giancarlo currently studies with Dr. Yoheved Kaplinsky and Julian Martin.
