About
Soprano Caitlin Mead is a native of Madison, WI and made her debut as Third Spirit in the Madison Opera's production of The Magic Flute at age 15. Most recently, Ms. Mead performed at the Missoula Art Museum in Montana with artist John Hitchcock’s exhibit, Bury the Hatchet, which will be presented again at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art with their Wisconsin Triennial in October. Other recent performances include Lisa in Bellini’s La Sonnambula, Giannetta in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore, the iSING International Festival in Suzhou, China, and Center for Contemporary Opera's world premieres of Richard Alan White’s Hester and Louis Karchin's Jane Eyre, which was recently recorded under the Naxos label. In 2015, Ms. Mead won the Alsop Entrepreneurship Award for her combination art gallery and recital entitled "Utopian Dream," which centered around Luciano Berio's Folk songs. She is a graduate of Mannes School of Music (MM) and Northwestern University (BM).
