About

Desdemona is a New York City-based ensemble devoted to creating unique and inventive performances. Through collaborations with collectives such as Kinds of Kings and the Classical Saxophone Project, Desdemona champions an eclectic repertoire from Renaissance motets to world premieres. Described by the New Yorker as an “excellent young quartet,” Desdemona has performed at Spectrum, 1 Rivington, Cornelia Street Café, Aréte Gallery, Princeton's Unruly Sounds Festival, Greenwich House Music School, and the CUNY Graduate Center, as well as at numerous home gatherings through the Groupmuse platform. Building a broader audience for new and classical music, Desdemona regularly appears on Savannah, Georgia's Live Oak Concert Series in venues from art galleries to kayak shops. In the 2019-20 season, Desdemona will perform at the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities, on the Savannah Philharmonic's chamber series, at 1 Rivington, and on the Prototype Festival in NYC!
