About
Since its first public performance in 2016, the MAE has made appearances at several venues and events including The National Museum of Mexican Art’s annual Sor Juana Festival and Citlalin Gallery’s Noche de Guitarras. MAE currently performs for several elementary schools on Chicago’s South and West sides as a featured ensemble for Ravinia’s REACH*TEACH*PLAY outreach program. Recent engagements include a standing room only performance at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México’s Chicago campus and a live performance on 91.5 WBEZ Chicago.
Music
The Music of the Americas Ensemble (MAE) offers a profound musical experience in an effort to make classical music a more accessible art form. In addition to the classics such as Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven, MAE performs a unique selection of works written by composers from the Americas. These include William Grant Still (USA), Juan Bautista Plaza (Venezuela), and Eduardo Gamboa (Mexico).
