About
I've been living in Baltimore for ten years and I regularly perform as a soloist, and with large and small ensembles. I studied at the Peabody Conservatory with Manuel Barrueco and I also regularly participated in the Early Music ensembles playing Baroque guitar, Renaissance lute, viola da gamba, and bandora. As a founding member of two contemporary music ensembles (Pique Collective and Mind on Fire), I also frequently use my electric guitar and have much experience with multi-media ensembles and live electronics. I even still perform on my cello when necessary, but ultimately I am a guitarist with an extensive musical background who is excited to perform for any audience!
Music
I love playing traditional guitar music like works by: Tárrega, Barrios, Villa-Lobos, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Rodrigo, Ponce, Sor, and Giuliani, as well as Renaissance and Baroque works by Dowland, Narvaez, Logy, Corbetta, De Visee, Sanz, Bach, Weiss, and others.
I am equally invested in contemporary works, especially when performing with my ensembles and duo partners. In addition to playing compositions by living composers, we also perform some of the later 20th century repertoire like compositions by Piazzolla, Takemitsu, Reich, Rochberg, Daugherty, and others.
I also compose original works for various instruments and I am always looking for opportunities to have these pieces performed!
