Violinist Midori Nakayama is an active performer and a music educator in San Francisco Bay Area & beyond. She began playing violin at the age of 6, received Master of Music & Professional Studies Diploma from San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
Midori performs as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player in various groups. Her recent contribution includes a contracted Concertmaster at University of Arizona Symphony for 2014 season, Associate Concertmaster at Vallejo Symphony, and a Marimba-Violin duet recital at Tokyo Opera City Hall, Tokyo Japan. Midori also has appeared as a violinist at Santa Cruz County Symphony, Opera Parallèle, One Found Sound, to name a few.
Additionally, Midori founded an event performance group called Corelli Strings in 2009, in hopes of connecting with people in the community with her music. As a founder and violinist of Corelli Strings, she has been performing over 150 events every year in the entire Bay Area.
