Elise Mark
Voice, soprano
About
I am a passionate performer and educator with a mission to create community through music and storytelling. I am a soprano comfortable singing in most genres, from opera and classical, to show tunes and pop music. I also enjoy learning music by contemporary composers and have worked on operas and art songs in which I worked directly with the composer of the piece. Recently, I was named a Semi-finalist in the Annapolis Opera Vocal Competition. Currently a teaching artist with Opera Philadelphia, I also maintain my own private vocal and piano studio. For more info on my bio, where I have sung, and where I am singing next, visit www.elisemark.com.
Music
Trained as an opera singer, I love performing arias and bringing opera into the mix of any concert, but I also enjoying singing art song, show tunes, jazz, and pop music. I am most passionate about performing classical music in ways that make it exciting and accessible to wider audiences. I also love mixing "classical singing" into other genres of music. As a coloratura soprano, I sing arias in many styles and languages, including Handel's Cleopatra, Mozart's Magic Flute, and Puccini's La bohème. I also enjoy learning works by living composers. I am simply passionate about music good music, telling stories about humans and human nature, and connecting with my audience as much as I can!
