Viola
About
I loved the musical communities I grew up in so much that I now work at a youth orchestra program in DC. My main instrument is the viola, and one of my favorite things to do is play chamber music with my friends. I've also lived in Taipei, Taiwan, where I wrote a thesis on Western classical music in East Asia, played the guzheng (a Chinese harp-like zither), and volunteered at an after-school program inspired by El Sistema. Today in the musical realms of my life, I work at a youth community music program, play in a community orchestra, and play chamber music in a piano quartet with my good friends.
Music
Mainly Western classical music: some recent composers I've performed are Brahms, Mozart, Rebecca Clarke, and Clara Schumann.
