i am a pianist (and cellist and mandolin player) and was staff accompanist at UCSC for 30 years, also playing for the local Gospel choir and other choirs. I am also the musical executor of the Paul Bowles music estate and, as such, have presented many concerts (on many continents!) of his music and other composers of his circle (Copland, Thomson, Bernstein to name but a few). I perform these concerts with singers and another pianist and there is a lot of spoken word -readings from correspondences between these composers and some personal memories of my friendship with Bowles.. i visited him many times at his home in Tangier, Morocco.
