About
Born in 1995, Kaitlin Pet is an oboist based in the Connecticut area. She started studying oboe with Marilyn Krentzman of the Hartford Symphony. In junior and senior year of high school, Kaitlin attended Juilliard Pre-College with and studied with Richard Dallessio. That same year, she won the Coast Guard Band concerto competition on Rimsky-Korsakov’s Variations on a Theme by Glinka. Diverse in interests, Kaitlin holds a biology and computer science degree from Columbia University. While in New York city, she freelanced in numerous opera productions and ensembles including Apotheosis Opera and Wind Ensemble of New York City, also becoming a finalist of the Riverside Concerto Competition. Currently, Kaitlin is studying with Yousun Chung at Hartt School of Music on a full scholarship through the Hartt 20/20 chamber program. Kaitlin is very interested in Baroque performance and hopes to one day start an mixed voice/instrumental Baroque ensemble with modern instrumentation.
